The Columbia River has the largest population of white sturgeon in the world which allows us to fish for them all year around. These fish tend to congregate in schools, which means when you find them you are in for some serious action.
Sturgeon have white meat and taste much like halibut which make them great table fare. Keeper sturgeon are between 42 and 60 inches. Keeper season varies in the Columbia River depending on where you are in the system.

From Bonneville Dam to the mouth of the Columbia River near the town of Astoria, Oregon Sturgeon are great fighters and will really test your strength at the end of a good day of fishing along with big smiles. If you just enjoy a fight, I strongly suggest booking a trip for oversized sturgeon. These fish gets up to 12+ feet in length and can weigh over 450 pounds. They will really put you to the test.
